Bullying is one of the leading causes of suicide among teenagers around the world. Some parents are thoughtful enough to take the essential steps to teach their children a lesson if they are found teasing and bullying another kid.
So did a father when his teenage daughter teased and bullied a girl suffering from cancer. The girl who went bald due to chemo, just like any other cancer patient, wore a wig. His daughter pulled off the girl’s wig to embarrass her and what this father did next will certainly make you laud him!
Without even having a word with his wife, the father forced his daughter to shave off all her hair as a punishment for bullying the bald girl.
Narrating the incident, he said, “They were having an argument in class about stupid teenage gossip regarding my daughter’s boyfriend. At some point the other girl mentioned how my daughter’s boyfriend was just using her for sex (this was actually a big shock to me as I had no idea she was sexually active) and called my daughter a slut,” reports Newsner.
“That’s what escalated the situation and resulted in the wig incident. Supposedly they have been arguing in class ever since my daughter started dating the guy in question. Basically just stupid teenage ‘he said she said’ nonsense,” he added.
“Not how I’ve raised my daughter to treat people and it truly disgusted me to hear how she acted from her deputy principal’, he wrote. ‘She showed no remorse. She tried to excuse her behavior by saying the girl in question deserved it. Again, I don’t care what she said, that behavior is inexcusable”.
So in order to teach his daughter a lesson, he gave her two choices:
1. To live without technology.
2. To shave her head completely bald.
And the teenager obviously chose to live with technology and give up her hair. Her dad did not even allow her to wear a wig. He decided it all himself without consulting his ex-wife, who was apparently unhappy with his decision.
“I came up with the punishment because I thought my daughter had an extreme lack of empathy for the girl she bullied,” he says. He also added that her actions felt more personal because he lost his mother to breast cancer when he was in his 20s.
“My daughter knows this and that is what really disgusted me with her behavior,” he said. “It demonstrated a complete and utter lack of empathy. I hoped that her going to school bald and walking a mile in the other girl’s shoes would teach her a lesson,” he added.
