You all remember how ruthlessly the cric-fanatics trolled Anushka Sharma over Virat Kohli’s bad performance? Of course, you do! Now, let’s imagine another episode sans Anushka. Put a news anchor in her place.

Pakistani anchor, Zainab Abbas, is unfurling an urban myth of sorts, according to Twitterati. They feel, whoever clicks a picture with her under-performs or gets out on duck at this ICC Champions Trophy season.

Umm, bizarre, right?

Well, they have proof! At first, she clicked a selfie with South Africa’s AB de Villiers, asking him to go easy on the Pakistani cricket team for the next game. Result? He was duck-ed, for the first time in his career of twelve years.

Next was, none other than, Virat Kohli. His performance was being raved about. But, the day after he posed for a selfie with Zainab he, too, got out on a duck (first time in the last three years).

Naturally, Tweeple found the connection and deemed it as the curse of Zainab’s selfies!

1. This is how it started!

2. And, there was a petition to ban her.

3. Even a fellow journalist poked fun at her.

4. The curse of the selfie came into being quite seriously.

5. There were even requests to Abbas to pose with certain players.

6. Β He did the math.

7. There was this request too!

But, how sportingly Zainab reacted was too damn good.

She was laughing out loud, like others.

Also, poked some fun.

And, when someone asked for her next target….

She shot back, saying.

Woah girl, you rock!

And, this one was the just epic!

Oh, this request came too. And, we are hoping this just doesn’t happen!

It is refreshing to see things being taken up lightly and the sense of humour is laud-worthy.
