Cristiano Ronaldo Ends His Time At Real Madrid With An Emotional Letter To All His Fans

While Real Madrid fans have been left in disbelief, it’s sheer joy for their Juventus counterparts. And why not? 5 time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo has officially left the Los Blancos to join the Old Lady, in one of the four most expensive deals of all time.

According to BBC, the cracking new deal worth 112m euros (£99.2m), which is approximately ₹900 crores, will keep the 33-year-old at Juventus for four years. The move comes after a Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his unhappiness at the Spanish club, soon after the Champions League final earlier this year.

Since becoming a part of the Real Madrid legacy in 2009, Ronaldo has scored a staggering 451 goals establishing himself as the club’s all-time leading goal scorer. Four golden balls and three golden boots, the former Manchester United star rose to the top of the world at the Santiago Bernabeau.

However, Ronaldo took out time to pen down a heartwarming letter for everyone at Madrid confirming his departure. In the extremely emotional note, Ronaldo pointed out that he felt this to be the right time to begin a new chapter in his life and hence, the move.

“However, I believe that the time has come to open a new stage in my life and that is why I have asked the club to accept transferring me. I feel that way and I ask everyone, and especially our followers, to please understand me.”

He went on to thank all his teammates, the staff at the club and most importantly the extraordinary fans, who have been by his side through thick and thin.

“Real Madrid has conquered my heart, and that of my family, and that is why more than ever I want to say thank you: thanks to the club, the president, the directors, my colleagues, all the technicians, doctors, physios and incredible workers that make everything work and that are pending every detail tirelessly.”

He concluded the letter by saying that the Madrid badge, shirt, and the Santiago Bernabeau will always be a part of him, no matter wherever he is.

Here is the full letter:

These years in Real Madrid, and in this city of Madrid, have been possibly the happiest of my life.

I only have feelings of enormous gratitude for this club, for its fans and for this city. I can only thank all of them for the love and affection I have received.

However, I believe that the time has come to open a new stage in my life and that is why I have asked the club to accept transferring me. I feel that way and I ask everyone, and especially our fans, to please understand me.

They have been absolutely wonderful for nine years. They have been nine unique years. It has been an emotional time for me, full of consideration but also hard because Real Madrid is of the highest demands, but I know very well that I will never forget that I have enjoyed football here in a unique way.

I have had fabulous team-mates on the field and in the dressing room, I have felt the warmth of an incredible crowd and together we have won three Championships in a row and four Championships in five years. And with them also, on an individual level, I have the satisfaction of having won four Gold Balls and three Gold Boots. All during my time in this immense and extraordinary club.

Real Madrid has conquered my heart, and that of my family, and that is why more than ever I want to say thank you: thanks to the club, the President, the directors, my colleagues, all the technical staff, doctors, physios and incredible workers that make everything work, that tirelessly pursue every minute detail.

Thank you infinitely once more to our fans and thanks also to Spanish Football. During these nine exciting years I have played against great players. My respect and my recognition for all of them.

I have reflected a lot and I know that the time has come for a new cycle. I’m leaving but this shirt, this badge and the Santiago Bernabeu but they will continue to always feel part of me wherever I am.

Thanks to all and, of course, as I said that first time in our stadium nine years ago: Go Madrid!

Cristiano Ronaldo will go down as one of the greatest footballers to don the Real Madrid shirt. Needless to say, his incredible achievements at the club will remain unparalleled for decades to come. We wish the colossal forward, best of luck for his future.
