Vasundhara Raje & Others In Isolation After Attending Party With COVID-19 Positive Kanika Kapoor

People across the world are fighting coronavirus on war footing given the increasing number of people being infected by it globally. According to the Live Tracking Dashboard, a total of 244,523 cases have been confirmed worldwide. As of now, 194 cases are confirmed in India. Recently, four new cases of COVID-19 have been reported from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

And as reported by India Today, popular Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor is also among the four who have been tested positive for novel coronavirus.

News18 reported that the singer had flown down to Lucknow from London a few days ago. She had also allegedly attended a lavish party that was attended by many bureaucrats, politicians and socialites. Kanika is been admitted to the King George’s Medical University (KGMU) hospital in Lucknow along with the other three patients, reports HT.

The 41-year-old actress and singer also posted an update confirming that she’s been tested positive for COVID-19.

Kanika’s father Rajiv Kapoor also reportedly said that she attended three parties after arriving in Lucknow from London.

“Six of us in our family are undergoing test today at 4 pm. Kanika has attended three parties after her arrival. She came in contact with around 350-400 people in three parties. Along with Kanika, we are also in isolation.”

Recently, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje took to social media and shared she has put herself under self-quarantine along with her son as she attended the party in which Kanika was also present.

While in Lucknow, I attended a dinner with my son Dushyant & his in-laws. Kanika, who has unfortunately tested positive for #Covid19 was also a guest.

As a matter of abundant caution, my son & I have immediately self-quarantined and we’re taking all necessary precautions.

India Today reports that UP Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh has also put himself under home isolation because he also met Kanika Kapoor at the party.

Journalist Shiv Aroor Tweeted that one MP who attended the celebrity party in Lucknow in the presence of coronavirus positive singer Kanika Kapoor also attended parliament after that. Hence, it should be shut without any further delay.

Nine new coronavirus patients are tested positive in the capital of Uttar Pradesh bringing the total count to 20. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had also earlier appealed to people to adopt social distancing to contain the virus.
