It’s been 15 years since it’s the last episode but we can never get enough of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. can we? Apparently, the cast feels the same way! Earlier this month, Courtney Cox who played Monica Geller posted a tribute video to their hilarious “PIVOT!” scene. This time around, it’s a nostalgic post about her beloved apartment!
In the video, shot on the street below Monica Geller’s apartment, she’s heading homeward. Shot in jest, Cox says she’s “going home,” and captioned the post- “The One Where My Rent Went Up $12,000.”

Here are 5 facts you probably didn’t know about the iconic apartment in the series.
- While you’re probably aware her apartment was in New York, it’s exterior shots were taken in Greenwich Village. You can actually see the outside of the iconic apartment on the corner of Grove and Bedford Streets.
2. That being said, the interior scenes of the two-bedroom apartment were filmed in L.A. on a specially designed set.
3. CNBC reports that the Manhattan home was about 975 square feet. This makes it quite roomy since it had that breezy balcony, cosy kitchen, and the beautiful living room, remember?
4. Wondering how much she actually paid in rent? Well, the series indicated that Monica’s apartment was rent controlled thanks to her grandmother. Season 4, episode 4 “The One With The Ballroom Dancing,” reveals that her Nana- Althea had been illegally subletting it, which is how Monica was able to afford the spacious apartment for a steal.
5. CNBC crunched the numbers and the median monthly rent for just such an apartment in the West Village is approximately $4,500 (Rs. 3 lakh).
Clearly, both the cast as well as fans worldwide shall remain eternally hooked to the iconic series. I for one, can’t wait to see Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Monica, Phoebe and Joey recreate their magic on screen again!
