Wash your hands. Don’t touch your face. These are two basic precautionary measures to avoid the spread of coronavirus. So, people globally have started wearing face masks and other safety gear to protect themselves from COVID-19. However, we might not be aware of the correct way to use such protective gear.
While many of us wear gloves to avoid direct exposure to the virus, a nurse from Michigan has explained how cross-contamination can still take place. Molly Lixey, a former emergency room nurse in Saginaw, demonstrated how quickly and easily germs can spread in grocery stores, reports CNN.

The nurse shows how fast coronavirus can spread if you use your phone or touch your face or other things while wearing gloves. She emphasizes that it is important to wash our hands regularly using soap irrespective of whether you are wearing gloves or not.
Molly also requested people to discard the used gloves properly. Her helpful advice was appreciated by many people online.
Many people thanked her for the informative video:
Seriously thank you to nurse Molly Lixey for doing this video showing how germs spread through cross contamination with gloves.
My advice about the phone is to leave it somewhere that you will not touch it during shopping. #CoronavirusPandemic pic.twitter.com/wANaW1OZXL

I tell people that you don’t need gloves. Use a hand sanitizer and wash your hands often. Wipe down your phone often. And your glasses. And your jewelry. And take off those fake nails. Wear eye protection. We nurses do. Stay safe.

Others also shared how they wisely use the gloves to avoid spreading of germs:
That’s why I I wipe everything thing after wearing gloves and don’t touch my game face or anything else smh

This is why I wipe my phone and phone case down with rubbing alcohol whenever I come home from being out. And why I use Lysol wipes on any part of my car I touch when I get home. And then I was my hands.

1st if all the only thing I take in the store is my Debit Card. No Phone. No Purse, No Wallet. I wear gloves & remove them inside out before I get in the car after putting groceries in the back. Car is opened with a clean hand. Then wipe my hands with alcohol.

I sanitizer my gloves before and after leaving stores. People also don’t think about their credit cards. Wipe your wallet & credit cards down after use. Car door handles and car keys.
