Beauty Pageant Contestant’s Answer Is Basically All Of Us When Questions Are ‘Out of Syllabus’

You know how beauty pageants go, all the contestants come dolled up in fancy gowns and give pretty much the same answer to every question asked. Just like in Miss Congeniality when all the contestants are asked, “What matters the most to you?” All of them give the prototype answer- “world peace!”

However, during a recent competition, this young woman’s answer sure is a breath of fresh air.

Sandra Lemonon made it to the top 15 list of the Binipining Pilipinas (Miss Philippines) competition. She was the first one to be called up on stage and was asked to give her opinion on a government scheme. She was asked,

“What are your insights on the government’s ‘Build, Build, Build’ program?”

However, Lemonon didn’t know the answer to the question. It wasn’t one she had prepared.

But what made her popular is that instead of rambling and talking out of her hat, she decided to go with the honest route. She admitted in front of thousands of people that she didn’t know about the scheme.

She continued saying, “But, at least I’m here trying to answer a good question. Thank you!”

The answer impressed both the host as well as 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach. She was mighty happy with the contestant and said, “Oh, I love her honesty. That’s better than lying.”

However, Sandra didn’t win the competition but did manage to win hearts all over the world.

Living in times when everyone is always trying to one up each other in how much they know, it’s great that honesty still has a place. And Sandra, winning or losing is one thing, we want to crown you anyway! ❤
