A woman cop, who resides in the police staff quarters in Kurla (east) called the police control room to report about a fellow cop and neighbor late at night on Saturday. The lady cop alleged that her colleague, Harishchandra Bhika Lahane stripped in front of her while she was standing in the balcony at 11 pm. The 41-year-old accused lives in the building opposite to that of the woman reported TOI.
The woman police officer accused Lahane of flashing his private parts in front of her in public. Police immediately held him and a case of outraging the modesty of a woman has been lodged against him.
A departmental inquiry is also ordered against Lahane. He is currently posted at the Pant Nagar police station and had reported to work for three days before the incident.
Recently, a video of a man flashing in front of a woman at a Mumbai ATM is also going viral. On the other hand, it is ironic that a cop who is supposed to protect us turned out to be such a sexual predator!
Time has hardly changed as far as women safety is concerned. But over the years women have certainly learned to muster up the courage to call out such perverts publically and legally. We hope that such people are taught severe lessons by law so that no one dares to harass a woman in any way ever!
