Meet Conan, A Stray Cat Who Works As A Full-Time Security Guard At A Mall In Philippines

We live in a world where anything can happen. A humble chaiwala from India can appear in a video with the legendary Bill Gates, Baba Ramdev can dance at a billionaire’s wedding, and a girl from the slums can become a model for a luxury brand. We also live in a world where animals are taking over human jobs!

Imagine walking into a mall and being greeted by a furry security guard! That’s right. In a mall in the Philippines, Conan, a six-month-old stray cat, has become a part of the security team, reported Indian Express.

This orange and white feline now spends his days checking bags and welcoming pets at the entrance of Megaworld Corporate Center in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.

Conan’s heartwarming story began when he was found as a tiny kitten crying in a parking lot by a housekeeper, reported Taipei Times. Rescued and given a new home, Conan soon found his calling. He joined the security team at just a few weeks old and has since become a beloved member of the mall staff.

A video of Conan at work was shared on Instagram.

“Meet Conan, a 6-month-old stray cat hired to keep a mall in the Philippines safe. He joined the security team of the Worldwide Corporate Center in the capital, Manila, when he was just a few weeks old and has since become an indispensable member of the team,” the caption read.

He is affectionately called ‘SG Conan’ and works full-time. Conan has even inspired other malls in the Philippines to adopt similar roles for stray cats.
