India May Now Give Combat Roles For Women In The Armed Forces. What A Brilliant News.

Nowadays, there’s nothing that men can do that women can’t.

India has had a woman Prime Minister, woman President and Chief Ministers. Women in India have always moved shoulder to shoulder with men. But something was missing all these years.

A high-risk adventurous career has always attracted the young, but earlier it was never thought of as a full-time career for women. Times have changed now.

Close on the heels of the IAF announcing a proposal to induct women as fighter aircraft pilots, another male bastion is planning to give combat roles to women in the armed forces.

This is what our Defence Minister, Manohar Parikkar said on women empowerment:

‘It is extremely unfortunate that our Prime Minister’s initiatives such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Selfie With Daughter are not being taken seriously by a few people, especially so-called secular-minded people. When our PM emphasizes Selfie with Daughter, it does not only address the issue of gender equality but also the disorder of gender insensitivity prevailing in the current form of society in a larger context. My ministry is working out (how) to assign combat role for women in the armed forces, and a policy decision will soon be made.’

We can be proud of the fact that women in the Indian Armed Forces are treated in a manner befitting their dignity and ensuring their safety.

The time is not far when we will have another ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’ not on a horse, but on a battle tank. 🙂
