Man Finds Dead Cockroach In ‘Idli Vada’ Served Onboard Air India Flight

Months after a lady passenger complained about finding a cockroach on her plate in the VIP lounge of Air India at Delhi airport, another such case has recently come to light. Rohit Raj Chauhan was on board the Bhopal-Mumbai flight AI-634 on Saturday morning. He was appalled to find a cockroach in his mid-air meal that he ordered on board.

He had ordered for a breakfast meal of Idli Vada Sambhar on the flight. Little did he expect that the meal would be served with a dead cockroach!

The flyer also claimed that he complained about it questioning the unhygienic food conditions to the crew. But, sadly, all his pleas went unheard. He then took to social media to share his disgusting experience and posted pictures of a cockroach on his plate.

The pictures soon went viral and several people around the country shared them on their social media accounts.

“It (cockroach) was found in Sambar served in the aircraft. I informed the Air India crew, but they ignored me,” Chauhan told TOI. “Since the crew members were not listening, I returned it to them,” he said.

Air India manager Rajendra Malhotra has, however, refuted all the claims saying that the team had not received any complaint in Bhopal, reported TOI.

Air India lately, announced that they would serve ‘stocked Indian food’ to the passengers while returning from foreign cities. But the repeated cockroach incidents only make us wonder about how safe would such stored food be in an Air India flight!
