This Mumbaikar Cleared 5 Million Kg Of Trash From Versova Beach And End Result Is Magnificent

Versova-Clean-Beach

Remember when hundreds of Mumbai’s joined hands last year at Mumbai’s Versova Beach, just to clean it and make it look beautiful again? Now after 85 weeks of perseverance, the helmer of the project, Afroz Shah, shared the latest picture of a clean, pristine Versova shoreline and we are mighty impressed.

It all started back in 2015 when Afroz (a lawyer by profession) gathered the locals and some celebrities in a movement that involved cleaning of Mumbai’s Versova beach.

It was organised by Versova Residents Volunteers (VRV) and there were Representatives from the United Nations (UN). Even, the United Nations Environment Programme’s Patron of the Oceans, Lewis Pugh, a maritime lawyer and campaigner for clean oceans was there.

After 85 weeks, i.e close to a year and a half, Afroz shared the latest picture of the beach.

Wow! Except for movies, have you seen a shore that clean in real life?

Soon enough, social media started praising Afroz’s efforts.

1. Randeep Hooda applauded the effort.

2. And, so did Raveena.

3. And, Suhel Seth said that people like Afroz are real Swacch Bharat ambassadors.

4. People got Goa feels after seeing the latest picture of the gorgeous beach.

6. Some couldn’t believe it.

7. And, others were showering words of praises.

Well, this is damn big and we are really appreciative of Afroz and other volunteers’ efforts. Kudos, guys!
