What are the stupidest reasons bosses have to fire an employee? Taking extended sick leaves? Asking for an autograph from a celebrity on duty? Spilling water on the office floor? There have been many such petty cases where bosses have fired their employees for silliest things. And, no matter what a ‘productive ninja’ you are at the office, but the possibilities of getting fired are always unpredictable!
Some people have a bad day or bad luck while a few others just have a bad boss, really! For instance, a woman in China was recently sacked for replying to her boss’ message with an emoji.
The manager of the bar in Changsha, Hunan province of China shared an official announcement on an instant messaging application. According to the company rules, the employees use ‘Roger’ or completely written words to reply to the messages of their respective boss. But the woman ended up sending an OK emoji to her boss. Hence, she was fired!
“You should use text to reply to the message if you have received it. Don’t you know the rules? Is this your acknowledgment of receipt?” her boss said. He, later on, asked the woman to speak to the HR and sort out her resignation.
“This is a real case, the resignation is still being processed,” the woman said, reports News 18. “I have worked for many years and this is my first encounter with this kind of stupid situation. I am good-tempered therefore I didn’t retaliate,” she added.
