This MP Village Has Zero Covid Cases As Women Take Charge & Stop Entry Of Outsiders

As the rest of the country struggles to curb the spread of the coronavirus, one village in Madhya Pradesh has grabbed eyeballs for its extraordinary work in keeping the virus at bay.

According to DNA, Madhya Pradesh’s Chikhalar village has not recorded a single Covid-19 case until now despite the deadly second wave of the pandemic. The entire credit goes to its women.

The women of the village have taken it upon themselves to restrict the entry of outsiders completely. They have imposed a complete lockdown in their locality and have prevented outsiders from entering the village. With this, they have made sure that their fellow villagers are safe.

Pictures show how the village women, draped in sarees and sticks in hand, have sealed the boundaries of the village with bamboo barricades. A poster on the barricade mentions that outsiders are prohibited from entering the village.

They have also been monitoring all those travelling via the state highway, thereby passing the village. Instead of having villagers go outdoors to do important work, 2 youths have been assigned to get the work done for the rest instead.

Kudos to the women of Chikhalar village! Others have a lot to learn from you.
