Crop Artist’s Tribute To Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj In Maharashtra Is Creativity At Its Best!

Art and creativity cannot be confined to the limits of a drawing board or as in this case, to farmland.

A popular rangoli artist took his creativity to another level when he created a ginormous artwork of the Maharashtrian warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. As a tribute to the warrior king, Mangesh Nipanikar created a gigantic mural on a field that people are currently zooming on google maps. The crop art was created on a farmland in a Nilanga village in Latur, Maharashtra.

Although the artwork was created in February this year during Shivaji Jayanti, it caught the attention of netizens when someone posted a video of the artwork (as it looks like on Google maps) and Twitter is blown away by his unmatched creativity.

This is what it looks like:

According to reports, here is how you can spot the artwork on Google maps:

Turn on the satellite view on Google Maps and search for ‘Chhatrapati Shree Shivaji Maharaj Farm Painting Art’ or ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj grass photo farm’ or search for the coordinates – 4QP5+8Q Dapka, Maharashtra.

Speaking to a media outlet, Nipanikar said, “Last year we made a world record-breaking rangoli of Shivaji. This year we had a different concept. Marathwada is drought-hit region so it was decided to make a green image of Chhatrapati Shivaji. The objective was to celebrate a green Shivaji Jayanti.”

In the wake of the recent cutting of trees for developmental purposes, such green initiatives from artists across the country can help promote agriculture and tree plantation.

Kudos to such great minds!
