We love it when Bollywood portrays the trials and tribulations of real people instead of fictional characters. Be it underdog success stories like ‘Gully Boy‘ or a peek into the life of a warrior from history like ‘Manikarnika‘.
Another film that has everyone in awe ever since its first look was released, is Chhapaak, a journey of trauma and triumph. Actress Deepika Padukone plays ‘Malti’, a character inspired from Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor and activist.
A couple of days ago, a small snippet of the movie leaked online. It was when the cast was shooting for a scene in the national capital. The scene had Deepika and Vikrant Massey in it. Now, another video has surfaced on Instagram from the sets of Chhapaak.
It shows Deepika in a school uniform. She’s eating roadside food with a friend. Presumably, the scene is of a younger Malti before the acid attack took place. Check it out here.
The much-awaited film has been written by Atika Chohan & Meghna Gulzar, directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Deepika herself. It is scheduled to hit the theatres on 10th January 2020.
