Farah Khan To Rajnikant, Celebs Extend Their Support To Migrant Workers Amid Lockdown

At a time when many of us are sitting at the comfort of our homes, spending our time with our families, there are thousands of migrant workers struggling to reach their homes safely amid the pandemic. But these tough times have also made people compassionate towards their fellow countrymen.

People like Sonu Sood have stepped in to ensure every stranded person across the country reaches their native places.

And following his footsteps, actor Swara Bhaskar started working to help the migrant workers in Delhi, reported Times Now.

And with the collaborative efforts of her team, the ‘Veere Di Wedding’ actor was able to successfully send 1,350 workers back to their homes. She’s been also distributing footwear to the needy people. And like her, there are many other well-known personalities doing their bit in these troubled times.

Celebrity chef Vikas Khanna, with the help of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been providing food to millions of people amid the lockdown, reported India TV.

In the bid to raise funds for the displaced daily wage workers, ‘Dabangg’ actor Sonakshi Sinha auctioned her paintings.

Director, producer Farah Khan has also joined hands with Vikas and has helped thousands of female migrant workers get sanitary pads, reported India TV.

‘Yaariyan’ actor Rakul Preet Singh adopted a slum with 250 families in Gurgaon and is providing them with 2 meals every day.

Actor Kunal Kapoor also extended his support towards the needy amid the pandemic.

Thalaivaa Rajinikanth has donated Rs 50 lakhs for the workers at the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) who have been struggling to make ends meet after shoots were suspended during the lockdown, reported Deccan Chronicle.
