That’s why tattoos are so attractive and every once in a while, we think about getting one done ourselves. Sometimes celebrities inspire us and give us a reason to get one finally, but they have their stories behind those tattoos and hidden meaning of signs and symbols.

Here are a few people who keep giving us tattooing goals.

1. Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie is the goddess of amazingness. What makes her more amazing are her tattoos and the reasons behind them. On her lower back, she has a Buddhist symbol of a tiger for protection dedicated to her son Maddox and right beneath her nape of the neck, there is an inscription of ‘Know your rights‘ which suits her humanitarian history as a Goodwill Ambassador.

What we might not know too well even if we’ve seen it, is the tattoo on her arm. It signifies the geographical coordinates of the places where her children are from and also additionally the coordinates of the birthplace of her doting husband Brad Pitt.

 

2. Virat Kohli

Our own loved cricketer, Virat Kohli is quite a tattoo fanatic. He has numerous on his arm which almost complete a tattoo sleeve with a samurai in on guard position, god’s eye and a monastery to name a few. He says he identifies with each and every tattoo of his demeanor personally and professionally, on the field. They are his constant reminders of what is important.

 

3. Priyanka Chopra

Our dear PC lost her father to cancer and what she did in tribute to him is nothing short of spectacularly sweet. She got the side of her hand tattooed with the phrase ‘Daddy’s lil girl‘ which is apparently in her father’s own handwriting.

Kevin Pietersen the ex-captain of England’s cricket team, has a big map of the world and markings of all the places he has scored a century.

 

5. Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus who got notoriously famous for her public demeanor has a hidden soft side to her personality. In addition to her other tattoos, she got ‘Just Breathe‘ right under her left breast, for a friend whom she lost to lung cancer, as she lost both her grandfather’s to it too.

A simple inscription in Arabic which say ‘Love yourself first‘. What better message do you have to give the world or yourself? 🙂

 

7. Emma Stone

This is actually quite a cute story. When Emma Stone’s mother beat cancer they decided to commemorate the occasion by getting the same tattoos especially related to their favorite song, Blackbird by Beatles and she emailed Paul McCartney requesting him for a doodle of the bird’s feet for her tattoo. And he did!

 

8. Vanessa Hudgens

A week before Vanessa was born, a butterfly sat on her mother’s belly which also explains her Vanessa which a latin derivative for the word butterfly. Hence the tattoo too.

 

9. Sushmita Sen

The strong mother of two who gave us a new definition of feminism in India, has a latin inscription on the side of her arm, which says ‘Aut Viam Invenviam Aut Faciam” which means “I shall either find my way or make one.” and gives us one more reason to love her for her brazen freedom.

 

10. Adam Levine

The Maroon 5 lead has a number of tattoos on his chiseled body, but some of them are super important to him. Like the one in Sanskrit, ‘Tapas’ which signifies his love for yoga, a number, 222 which was the door number of the first studio Maroon 5 ever recorded in.

 

11. Megan Fox

A lesser know fact about the ethereal beauty is that she is a big fan of poetry and has a number of verses inked on herself. The most visibly famous on is ‘We will all laugh at gilded butterflies’ which is an excerpt from King Lear by Shakespeare.

 

12. Dwayne Johnson/ Rock

The Rock, Dwayne Johnson has an intricate pattern on his arm and shoulder which houses the names of his wife and children which is a symbol of family and spirituality. The ex-wrestler is a complete family man by the looks of it. 🙂
