CBSE Releases ‘Exam Anthem’ Urging Stressed Out Students To Chill This Exam Season

CBSE exams for class 10 and 12 as are ongoing and as someone who has braved the whirlwind that is board exams, I know that the students are in a lot of stress. Because our education system has made us believe that a lot is at stake and one’s performance in board exams decides their entire future (which it doesn’t).

However, to help students deal with the pressure and stress that comes along with board exams, the CBSE board has come up with an ‘exam anthem’, reports TOI.

The beaty rap song has been written by a small team belonging to CBSE. A few stanzas have also been written by chairperson Anita Karwal, reports India Today. The song has been sung by students and staff members of Delhi Public School, Delhi branch.

The song starts by urging students to make a time-table for different recreational activities like chilling, khel kudd, sleeping, etc. This is to place importance on the necessity to take out time to “chill” during the exam season and also to eat and sleep on time.

“Padhai ab sabko tyohaar jaise manana hai
Har cheez ka ek time-table banana hai
Chill karne ka bhi toh time banana hai
Khel kudd par nahi curfew lagana hai
Khake peeke health mast banana hai
Sone ke time par toh so hi jana hai.”

Through the song, CBSE advises students to not get lost in the rat race. Instead, they asked students to focus on their talents and passion.

“Rat nahi lagana hai
Tujhe marks ki race mein kho nahi jana hai
Talent aur passion pe khoob dhyan lagana hai
Mehnat karega
Tere dam pe zamana hai.”

The song then goes on to highlight how getting high marks isn’t the only way to be successful. There are other ventures such as designing or dancing which don’t focus on board exam results.

“Sirf marks hi nahi par success ke liye
Bohot hai careers kuch banne ke liye
Designer, ya teacher, ya dancer banega
Tu jo bhi banega apni mehnat se banega.”

Isn’t it amazing how, for what seems like the first time, education boards are taking initiatives to relieve the stress of students? Kudos to CBSE for doing so and highlighting how marks aren’t everything!
