A Tourist From New Zealand Exposes Scammers In Action On The Streets Of New Delhi

Every country and culture has their own set of flaws. But we tend to overlook them until someone points it out to us. Yes, we love our country, but we also hate people whose behaviour makes us Indians look like imbeciles, illiterates and scammers. After all, “Koi bhi desh perfect nahi hota, usse perfect banana padta hai”, right?

A smart guy from New Zealand visited India and made a video to expose scammers on the street of New Delhi. He tricked the scamsters into believing he is an unsuspecting tourist and the exposed their tactics in this video.

He showcases how the ‘agents’ (travel agents, agents of local shops etc) in Delhi misled him every step of the way and spoke in Hindi because they thought he didn’t understand the language.

Next, they tried to keep him away from the official Government of India Tourist Office by leading him down a completely different route.

Even the shopkeepers tried to charge him sky-high prices for a normal scarf by claiming it is pure silk. The salesman also says that the green and gold combination is extremely rare and he will not find it anywhere.

It is not unheard of that when foreigners visit India, they are scammed by the local businesses everywhere they go. From overpriced water bottles to selling fake commodities at exuberant rates, we have mastered the art of looting the firangs. Not just firangs, even Indians from different regions are scammed by the local-ites.

This video puts us Indians to shame. But hopefully, we can all take a lesson from this and stop making a fool out of ourselves while taking unsuspecting tourists for a ride.
