The Marvel Cinematic Universe has featured many empowering women like Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Okoye, Shuri, Hope van Dyne, Gamora and the list goes on. But none of them has starred in their own solo movie. Now, the powers that be have taken their first step to address the issue regarding the lack of female-led films with ‘Captain Marvel’.
This is the first cinematic appearance of Carol Danvers and it takes place in the ’90s. It follows her story as a pilot on Earth to a Kree warrior and how she became Captain Marvel after that. And of course, it explains why Nick Fury called her at the end of ‘Infinity War‘ and sets up how the superhero will play into the events of ‘Endgame‘.
‘Captain Marvel’ released on Women’s Day and fans flocked to the theatres to see Marvel’s first female-led film. When they came out, they were thrilled, emotional and overly excited to see her in ‘Avengers: Endgame’.

#CaptainMarvel is an enjoyable & twisty ride through the MCU’s past.
There’s some stumbles here & there but the film overcomes them with Larson, Mendelsohn & Jackson leading the way.
Pinar Toprak offers one of the better MCU scores & the 90’s era songlist adds a great punch. 🤙 pic.twitter.com/BAENGUnPzN— Marvelous Realm (@MarvelousRealm) March 8, 2019
Ahhh #CaptainMarvel was SO GOOD! It was immensely fun and Brie Larson was BAD ASS. I can’t believe how upset people got over “feminism” in a movie that ended up being all about pride in humankind 💪🏼🌎

Captain Marvel is not only an incredibly funny, emotional, and well paced standalone movie, but it also has some of the best callbacks and easter eggs of any MCU movie. It flipped a lot of my expectations on their heads and I need more Carol Danvers in my life #CaptainMarvel pic.twitter.com/MgcAQHr8ww

I honestly didn’t think I was going to enjoy #CaptainMarvel as much as I did but wow. Brie Larson was perfect for the role! The movie starts off a bit slow but once the pace picks up it’ll have you hooked. Plus … the post credit scene is … wow. 8/10 pic.twitter.com/XQ2ZvsY6v2

No Spoilers. #CaptainMarvel is an enjoyable SuperHero origin movie. Good humor and action. Strong character and relationship building. 90’s references fun, not overused. Supporting cast was great. They did pull some punches, but a nice start. Go check it out. #mcu #BrieLarson pic.twitter.com/u5m6INI5TY

I saw Captain Marvel tonight, and while it may not be groundbreaking, it was fun and the personal stakes felt real/earned. Plus, it didn’t have the usual 3rd act bloat that weighs down most action films today. So, yeah. Thumbs up. #CaptainMarvelreview

Brie Larson is excellent in #CaptainMarvel,as for the #film could of been a better thought out/scripted vehicle for one of the very few female #superheroes to grace film or digital but that could be said by a lot of #films try reading various #CaptainMarvelreview 's 90s ho hum

‘Captain Marvel’ features a tribute to the late Stan Lee and evidently, that caught the viewers offguard.

The directing and writing duo of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck has directed one of my personal favourites, ‘Half Nelson’. And I’m glad that they’ve excelled at graduating from intimate, small-scale movies to a genuine blockbuster. So, have these tweets convinced you to buy a ticket for ‘Captain Marvel’? Let us know in the comments.
