A two-time cancer survivor, MacDonald from Oregon, USA used to buy lottery tickets every week. Every time he left home to buy the tickets his wife asked him to ‘buy winning tickets’.
But one fine day, his wife forgot to tell her husband to buy winning tickets and luckily, the tickets he bought on the same day got him a jackpot worth $4.6 million (32 Crores INR).
“I am a very lucky guy. I survived cancer twice and here I am. This is amazing,” he told CNN.
After paying the taxes, he took home about $1.5 million. The cafe where he purchased the ticket from also got a selling bonus of $46,000 (INR 32 Lakh).
A spokesman for the Oregon Lottery said that MacDonald did not agree to give any interviews or pictures of himself to the media.
