Students across Maharashtra have taken to social media to express their displeasure with the upcoming Class X and XII offline board exams, demanding cancellation or postponement. While practical exams for the affiliated schools have already started since March 1, the board has allowed the schools to hold examinations till June 11 while following all the safety guidelines, NDTV reports.

School education minister, Varsha Gaikwad met the education departmemnt’s senior officials to discuss the promotion of Class IX and Class X students in the next class without appearing for exams. While this decision would be taken in a day or two, CBSE board theory exams for Class X are slated to be conducted offline from April 23 to May 21, 2021, and Class XII exams from April 29 to May 20, 2021. As per a report in TOI, over 4 lakh tweets have used this hashtag demanding Maharashtra board exams be canceled.
Amid the rising COVID-19 infections, students have flooded Twitter with hilarious jokes and memes even in these testing times.
#cancelboardexams2021 is trending at No.1 all over India for more than 1hr now with more than 227K tweets!! If the Government still doesn't listen to the voice of students, it would depict how stubborn and least conscious they are w.r.t. students!! @DrRPNishank @VarshaEGaikwad pic.twitter.com/2iEMgK8ST1
