The wildfires raging in California, United States, have reached gut wrenching statistics. Considered one of the worst wildfire seasons on record for California, it has managed to destroy unprecedented acres of land and life in its wake. On Thursday, the Woolsey Fire began raging in Southern California, pushing its way towards Malibu and resulting in evacuations from Malibu, Calabasas, Agoura Hills and other nearby areas.
Southern California, particularly Malibu, is home to several celebrities who are now facing evacuation or have already lost their homes.

Only recently, One Direction’s Liam Payne posted a devastating tweet about his home being at risk of being burned down by the raging fires.
My heart goes out to everyone caught in the fires please stay safe and don’t take unnecessary risks. I think I’m about to lose my house and its memories 😔even worse tragically people have died thoughts and prayers with everyone it’s been a tough day let’s hope it gets better 🙏🏼

As Liam mentioned, what’s even more devastating is the loss of life and wildlife that is being caused by these fires.
Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson’s house was engulfed in the Woolsey fire. He posted a heartbreaking picture on his Instagram, assuring his and his family’s safety.
Payne and Derrickson are two amongst several celebrities who are witnessing utter chaos and destruction that these wildfires are leaving in their wake.
Last week, several celebs including Will Smith and Caitlyn Jenner posted updates on social media to let their fans know that they were safe.
Will Smith shared this video of his home, and you can clearly see how terribly close the humongous cloud of smoke from the fires is!
Gerard Butler, who had to evacuate, returned to his Malibu home to find it completely destroyed by the fires.
He shared videos of the charred remains on his Instagram stories, urging people to offer their support to the firefighters who were risking their lives and trying hard to save people from the fires.
Actor Orlando Bloom also was forced to evacuate as well.
While most celebs had to preemptively evacuate, many returned to find their homes unharmed, like Lady Gaga.
‘Blurred Lines’ singer Robin Thicke was not so lucky as he and his family were driven out of their homes by the fires.
He came home to this heartbreaking sight….

The Office‘s Rainn Wilson shared this video of how his house was barely spared while there was destruction just a few yard away.
Apart from homes, the wildfires also managed to engulf the sets of TV shows like HBO’s Westworld and The Bachelor.

Most of the celebs have managed to return to their homes to ascertain the level of damages to their properties, such as Caitlyn Jenner, who posted an update.
However, some, like Alyssa Milano, are still evacuated and struggling to return home.
UPDATE: Still evacuated. We’ve been under mandatory evacuation since Thurs. We’re safe. House is still in jeopardy. Still no power. Still dealing with flare-ups.
I’m going to rally tonight to receive the @ACLU Eason Monroe Courageous Advocate Award at the #BillOfRights dinner.

Many of the celebs have acknowledged the fact that while their Malibu or Calabasas homes may be at risk, they are one of many other properties they own. And they have somewhere to go to while they wait for the fires to be brought under control. However, their loss is nothing compared to the people whose only homes and sources of livelihood have been destroyed by this devastating calamity.
