Woman Takes Front Seat, Allows Cab Driver To Offer Namaz In Backseat, People Say ‘My India’

I remember how back in school, we used to have events where students donned clothes, brought food, gave dance performances that various cultures identified with. We used to dress up as Bengalis, Rajasthanis, Kashmiris, Malayalis, Goans, Maharashtrians, etc. and feast on items synonymous with each region. Such events taught us about our country’s diversity and secularity.

Echoing the same thought, one woman named Priya Singh shared on LinkedIn how she let her cab driver offer namaz in the back seat while she took the front seat.

“I took an Uber from the airport and after 10 min, Azaan started playing in driver’s mobile…I asked him ‘iftar kiya apne’ he replied ‘Haan aaj road per hi ho gaya kyuki rental duty thi’ I again asked ‘do you want to pay namaaz’ he asked ‘can I?’ We parked the car on the roadside to let him do his prayers in the back seat while I sit in the front seat,” the woman wrote.

She further went on to add, “That’s the kind of India my parent taught me about.”
