Today is a crucial day as Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget for 2020. It’s already been a year since India’s first full-time female FM tabled the financial and economic future of the country. And just like the previous year, this time too the internet is filled with hilarious memes about the budget.
The new tax regime has brought relief to the middle-income group as the government has suggested lower tax rates for those falling in the 5-15 lakh bracket, reports The Indian Express. There will also be a better and simplified personal tax regime with no income tax for individuals with income up to Rs 5 lakh. In the new budget, a huge amount has also been allocated for the empowerment of backward and scheduled castes, reports News18.
