Love Popping Bubble Wrap? You Might Not Be Able To Do That Again… Ever

We all know what bubble wrap is. It is a transparent plastic material commonly used for packing fragile materials. And its is heaven for people who just can’t stop fidgeting. Popping them is one of the underrated pleasures of life and the *pop pop*  sound is music to some of our ears. Almost everyone loves doing that. But, there is bad news!

Bubble Wrap, the packaging material popular with shippers, and people alike, is losing its pop.

The inventors of bubble wrap, Sealed Air Corp. who started this thing in 1960 are reconstructing that whole thing. It is called iBubblewrap. It has been done because the previous ones occupied more space. The inflated bubble wrap will look like the original one except with one major difference – you won’t be able to pop that!

This is done because the new version will cost less to ship to customers

Protective packaging is a big business. Millions of products are shipped around the world. Retailers like Amazon keep experimenting with the new types of packaging. Cheaper and faster shipping is the mantra. And since the bubble wrap remains the common medium for packaging e-commerce products, this step had to be taken.

R.I.P. Bubble Wrap!
