Doctors informed her that her son Arun Kumar was critically ill as he was suffering from myositis (inflammation of muscles). Volunteers of Hindu helpline, a VHP organization, arranged a cab with two taxi drivers for Vasan free of cost.

Union Minister V Muraleedharan, the office of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Congress leader, Oommen Chandy, helped her get the required passes to travel such a long distance amid lockdown.

“Due to god’s grace we have reached here without any problems anywhere,” Vasan said. After returning from his leave in February, Arun had fallen ill and was admitted in AIIMS Jodhpur. His health is now improving, his mother said. Arun also has a one-year-old son in Kerala.

Though the country is under an extended lockdown, we are happy to see that those in an emergency are being exempted from the lockdown and are also helped to reach their destination safely by officials.
