BSE Sensex Surges To 50,000 For The 1st Time In History, People Celebrate With Memes

For the first time in its 34-year history, Sensex has crossed the 50,000 mark. The 30-share index of the BSE was up over 250 points at 50,048 which is double from where it stood in March 2020 at 25,638.

According to The Economic Times, there are several factors for these highs like US President Joe Biden taking oath, the World Health Organization approving COVID-19 vaccines, European Central Bank’s easy money policy, inflation rise in the UK, and last but definitely not the least, buying by domestic and foreign investors.

Investors or not, people are celebrating with memes on Twitter. No points for guessing that a lot of them reference Harshad Mehta.
