Till now, we have seen people attempting scores of challenges online. While challenges like the ‘Cereal Challenge’, ‘Bin Bag Vacuum Challenge’ and the ‘The Triangle Dance’ got us thinking, ‘But why?’, others like the ‘Koala Challenge’ and ‘Flex Challenge’ motivated people to test their physical abilities. Well, currently, there’s a new challenge that’s hit social media.
The ‘Broom Challenge’ is the latest one that’s keeping people busy. In this challenge, all you have to do is keep your broom standing upright, on its own. FYI, not the desi jhaado that we see at every Indian household.
I wanna do the #broomchallenge but we only got this kinda broom 🥺 pic.twitter.com/WYJT2ns2Es

Although that would have been really intriguing, right?
Anyway, so the challenge is to upload a picture or video attempting to make the videsi jhaado (that looks like a ceiling broom) stand upright, reported News18.
Who initiated the challenge you ask? Well, a couple of Twitter users said that according to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Monday was the only day when brooms could stand up on its own because of the Earth’s gravitational pull.
Sooooo apparently #NASA reported that the earth is at a perfect tilt today, and your broom can stand on its own.
So I tried it… lol
Post your pics below, let’s see if everyone gets the same results. #broomchallenge pic.twitter.com/f1X2sUMWHK— Alexis Wainwright (@AWainwrightTV) February 11, 2020
Okay so NASA said today was the only day a broom can stand up on its own because of the gravitational pull…I didn’t believe it at first but OMG! 😭😭😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/M0HCeemyGt

Even though there wasn’t any such official announcement from NASA, people thought it would be cool to try the #broomchallenge. And since then, many jumped on the bandwagon and started posting images and videos of their brooms standing erect.
Take a look:
I can't believe this. People are tweeting that the gravitational pull today is allowing brooms to stand up on their own. Is this thing real or have we collectively a society never tried standing a broom up#broom #nasa #what #physics #science #sciencetwitter #broomchallenge pic.twitter.com/lDkF46Fxpm

Although people enjoyed attempting the challenge, we are saddened to inform you that such kinds of brooms can stand upright on their own, provided they are on a flat surface and have flat bristles. There is no rocket science behind it guys, my kaamwali bai always does this trick, with ease.
