Bride Dances With Terminally Ill Father On Her Wedding And Leaves Everyone Teary-Eyed

Everyone looks forward to the father-daughter dance during a wedding. There is no questioning how special and emotional the moment is for every bride. Mary Bourne Roberts had imagined the same for her wedding. She had picked out the song ‘I Hope You Dance’, a Lee Ann Womack hit, remembering how she had her father Jim used to dance around the kitchen listening to it.

Her wish was finally about to come true at her wedding. However, it was nothing like she had imagined.

A few months before the wedding, Jim was diagnosed with glioblastoma – an incurable disease which kills the patient in a matter of months. It wasn’t sure whether Jim will be able to make it to his daughter’s wedding.

But he did, and Mary made this moment count.

Although Jim was on a wheelchair, she held his hands and took him to the dance floor. She moved the wheelchair around in circles and twirled like a little girl.

Her mother Tracy told Fox News, “Our family has been through so much since Jim’s diagnosis…the dance was a dream come true for both of them”.

The bride said that the opportunity to dance with her father was “overwhelming”.

“We weren’t sure what the day would look like” – Mary.

The video ends with everyone in the room teary-eyed as Mary sits on her father’s lap to give him a kiss.
