Brazil President Invokes Ramayana & ‘Sanjeevani Booti’ To Thank India For Covid Vaccines

Our country is one of the world’s largest prescription drug-makers. And currently, India is sending coronavirus vaccines, both Covaxin and Covishield, to several countries like Brazil, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Morocco, Bangladesh, and Myanmar, for frontline workers to get vaccinated first, reports The Indian Express.

The Brazilian President, Jair Bolsonaro, took to Twitter to thank India for supplying them with coronavirus vaccine. What’s even better is that he invoked the Ramayana and compared the vaccines to ‘Sanjeevani Booti’ with an illustration of Lord Hanuman carrying it across borders, reports Outlook India.

“Brazil feels honoured to have a great partner to overcome a global obstacle by joining efforts. Thank you for assisting us with the vaccine exports from India to Brazil. Dhanyavaad!” he wrote.

The illustration shows Lord Hanuman carrying the Dronagiri hill from India to Brazil with a syringe and a vial on top, reports The Tribune.

In the Ramayana, Lord Hanuman given the task to bring the ‘Sanjeevani Booti’ – a herb with life-saving properties – from the Dronagiri hill after Lakshman was injured in a battle in Lanka. However, Lord Hanuman returned with the entire hill after he failed to identify the herb.

Such a nice and symbolic way to thank India!
