Surat Woman Diagnosed With Cancer Plants 30,000 Trees To Save Others From Air Pollution

Climate change is a result of man’s careless exploitation of mother nature. And, one of the gravest concerns that lead to climate change is air pollution. The ever-increasing pollution levels are not only wreaking havoc on our planet but are also severely hazardous for our health. And, the only way to save our planet is by planting trees.

Some time ago, a 27-year-old woman from Surat was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Shruchi Vadaliya started a campaign to save the environment after she was diagnosed with the fatal disease, reports Business Standard. Since then, she has planted over 30,000 trees to tackle the issue of air pollution in the country.

She believes that contaminated air is one of the major reasons that people are easily developing terminal diseases. “I may die soon but I want to live on in the breaths of the people by planting more trees. I do not have enough time to live my life and fulfill dreams but I do not want others to face the same. Therefore, plants should be planted which will improve the air quality and prevent cancer,” Shruchi was quoted saying by News 18.

In the last two years, she has planted thousands of trees and encouraged others to do the same. According to her, the chances of people developing such dangerous diseases will be greatly reduced if we breathe fresh air. Shruchi insists that it is pollution that got her sick and as a preventive measure to help others she is on a spree to plant more and more trees.

The Gujarat-based woman often visits different villages and schools to encourage children to plant trees. She further added, “Educating children is the best way to save the future.” We agree with her wise words and applaud her grit and determination!
