Wow. That’s all that’s coming out of my mouth after watching the Brahmastra trailer. Rooted in ancient elements and mythology, Ayan Mukerji’s film, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni, looks like a visual spectacle.
When I look at a film, I don’t view it as a critic who is set to dissect every little detail. No, instead I watch it as a simple viewer who wants a worthwhile experience that gets her excited with the storytelling, dialogues, music, and the overall visuals. And Brahmastra seems to be it.
There is a lot going on with the trailer and there is too much information in one frame. Which is why one has to watch it multiple times, probably pausing a few times in between, to get a grip of it. But it’s safe to say that I’m incredibly proud that a film like this has been produced by the Hindi Film industry. It’s bold. It’s unapologetic. It’s original.
However, as I was scrolling through the tweets and reactions regarding the trailer, I couldn’t help but laugh at how excited people were to get a glimpse of Shahrukh Khan. And I’m not going to lie. There are certain frames which do look like they have SRK in them.
Forget Ranbir or Alia, or even Senior Bachchan’s storytelling. Fans were busy trying to spot SRK in the trailer. Have a look:
