A few days ago, industrialist Anand Mahindra tweeted a video of Neelakandan Nair. While Mahindra lauded the young Kalaripayattu artist, his tweet unfortunately misidentified the gender of the 10-year-old boy.
WARNING: Do NOT get in this young woman’s way! And Kalaripayattu needs to be given a significantly greater share of the limelight in our sporting priorities. This can—and will— catch the world’s attention. pic.twitter.com/OJmJqxKhdN

Soon after, the artist himself responded by acknowledging Mahindra’s praise. However the boy pointed out that he wasn’t a ‘young woman’ and even went on to reveal the reason why he’s been growing out his hair. Take a look-
Thanks a lot for your support and encouragement sir! A small correction – I am not a girl, I am a 10 year old boy. I am growing my hair long for a role in a planned short movie on Kalaripayattu. 🙏

The industrialist subsequently tweeted a humble apology, reports India Today.
