In Goa, ‘Boom Boom’ Gang & ‘Bang Bang’ Gang Engage In Shootout Allegedly Over A Woman

It wouldn’t be wrong if I say the 90s was the era of Shah Rukh Khan. It was during this time when he rose to fame and established himself as the ‘king of romance’. But when I saw him play the part of a ‘gali ka gunda’ in the 2000 movie ‘Josh’, the die-hard SRK fan in me started rooting for him. Hence, when I read a piece of news involving a shootout between two gangs in Goa, I was like, “It’s ‘Josh’ IRL.”

According to Hindustan Times, two local gangs named Boom Boom, led by Imran Bepari, and Bang Bang, led by Zenito Cardozo indulged in a shootout at Santa Cruz village in North Goa last month. And during the firing, a gangster was accidentally shot dead by one of his own gang members. Multiple people were also arrested post the shootout between the rival gangs.

Now, revealing the reason behind the incident, Goa police said to Times Of India that both the parties were trying to establish their supremacy over each other. It was also alleged that a woman was the reason behind the gun battle between the two gangs.

Old Goa PSI Chetan Saulekar stated that Cardozo, the prime conspirator, abducted a person from his residence and threatened him. Apparently, two men from different gangs were eyeing the same woman and the continuous threatening and bullying against each other lead to the deadly shootout.

This incident would immediately remind any movie buff of the rivalry between Max, leader of the gang Eagles and Prakash leading the Bichhoos in the movie ‘Josh’. Even though the age-old rivalry in the movie does turn into ‘rishtedaari’, but in this case, nothing of that sorts happened and the perpetrators were put behind bars. Well, this establishes that there’s a difference between reel and real life, right?
