Boney Kapoor Slams Kerala DGP For Claiming Sridevi’s Untimely Death Was A Murder

Bollywood’s biggest sensation, Sridevi Kapoor’s sudden demise in February last year in a tragic incident shook the entire nation. After the post-mortem, the Dubai Police stated that her death occurred due to drowning in her hotel apartment’s bathtub in Dubai following her loss of consciousness.

After her untimely death, there were several conspiracy theories that came to light speculating that the actor’s death could be a murder.

Only yesterday, the Kerala DGP (Prisons) Rishiraj Singh speculated that there might be some foul play and that the late actor’s unexpected death under mysterious circumstances could be murder.

In a column for the newspaper Kerala Kaumudi, Singh wrote that Sridevi’s death ‘might not have been due to accidental drowning’.

Following this, Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor regarded Singh’s speculations as to a ‘figment of imagination’ and said that there was no need to react to such stupid stories.

He said, “I don’t want to react to such stupid stories. There is no need to react because such stupid stories keep coming. Basically, this is somebody’s figment of the imagination.”

In the article, Singh wrote, “My friend and the late forensic expert Dr Umadathan had told me long back that Sridevi’s death might have been a murder and not an accidental death. This he told me when I asked him about Sridevi’s death, out of curiosity. He also pointed out certain facts to back his claims. According to him, a person will never drown in one-foot deep water, however much he drinks. He will drown only if somebody holds his both legs and sinks his head into the water.”

The death of the first female superstar of Indian cinema was indeed one of the biggest losses for the industry that shook her fans. While there’s no saying whether there’s any truth to the speculations, nothing can compensate for the loss.

In other news, Sridevi’s biography – authorised by Boney Kapoor and published by a leading publication is said to be releasing this year.
