In a shocking turn of events, members of the Rajput Karni Sena stalled the shoot of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati’ and vandalised the sets. Not only that, they assaulted and roughened up Bhansali and it was an abhorrent sight.
SLB’s historical saga is a story of Alauddin Khilji’s love, rage and fascination of Rani Padmini of Mewar. While the cast and crew were shooting in Jaipur’s Jaigarh Fort on Friday, the mob arrived and disrupted the shooting. Thereby vandalising the sets and beating up Bhansali.
Members of the film fraternity are appalled by it and expressed their shock and disbelief on the social media.

NO i will not!!!!!! Your fragile collective ego, caste pride & half literate understanding of history is not my problem. #India is a.. 1/2 https://t.co/Cdw0HSukPq
— Swara Bhasker (@ReallySwara) January 28, 2017
.. india is a democracy & will b ruled by the Provisions of the constitution not the sentiments and whims of some caste pride. 2/2 https://t.co/Cdw0HSukPq
— Swara Bhasker (@ReallySwara) January 28, 2017
History is a study of past events. That means 1 is not physically present to verify if something happend & how & what actually happened. 1/3 https://t.co/yhdvgBM3fo
— Swara Bhasker (@ReallySwara) January 28, 2017
Thus often recorded history can be fact checked in a limited way. Especially legends Also in writing historians own biases come in2 play 2/3 https://t.co/yhdvgBM3fo
— Swara Bhasker (@ReallySwara) January 28, 2017
Thus there can never b one objective historical account esp for events that have no eye witness accounts. Eg. #Padmavati #khilji story 3/3 https://t.co/yhdvgBM3fo
— Swara Bhasker (@ReallySwara) January 28, 2017
