Varun Dhawan, Richa Chadha & Others Condemn Reasi Terrorist Attack That Killed 9 People

In a tragic event on Sunday, a bus carrying pilgrims in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir was attacked, leading to the death of 9 people and injuries to 33 others. The Resistance Front (TRF), which is connected to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist group, claimed responsibility for the attack. They have warned of more attacks aimed at “tourists and non-locals” and called this the “start of a new campaign”, reported News18.

An eyewitness reported that two masked terrorists opened fired on the bus, which was transporting pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple near Ransoo to Katra town, a base for those visiting the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. Reasi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohita Sharma said the bus was ambushed, causing the driver to lose control and the bus to fall into a gorge in Teryath village, Poni area, reported The Print.

Among the injured, 17 are from Uttar Pradesh and one is from Delhi, with the others still unidentified. 10 victims have gunshot wounds, and all the injured are receiving treatment in hospitals in Jammu and Reasi districts.

One survivor said, “I saw a terrorist shooting at the bus. He continued shooting for 20 minutes even after the bus fell into the gorge,” quoted Firstpost.

Several celebrities working in the Hindi film industry condemned the Reasi terrorist attack. Actors Varun Dhawan, Rashmika Mandanna, Riteish Deshmukh, Richa Chadha, filmmaker Siddharth Anand and singer Armaan Malik raised their voices against terrorism and extended their condolences to the families of the victims.
