India’s famous badminton player PV Sindhu has won herself a bronze at the Tokyo Olympics after defeating China’s He Bing Jiao. Sindhu defeated He Bing Jiao 21-13 and 21-15 in the bronze medal match, reports NDTV. This is her second consecutive medal. She won a silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
PV Sindhu has become the first Indian female sportsperson to win two medals at the Olympics and the second Indian Olympian with two medals after wrestler Sushil Kumar, reports The Indian Express.
Several people, including Bollywood celebrities, celebrated PV Sindhu’s achievement. Actors like Taapsee Pannu, Anupam Kher, Sunny Deol and others took to Twitter to congratulate the athlete. Have a look:
