BJP MLA Says Virat Is ‘Unpatriotic’ For Marrying In Tuscany And Not In The Land Of Ram. WHAT?

Virat and Anushka tying the knot was probably the highlight of this wedding season. Their shaadi was everywhere, timelines, newspapers and social media. The rustic, intimate affair was really what dreams are made of.

The celeb couple chose the stunning locales of rustic Tuscany for their big day. The Sabyasachi outfits, Italian backdrop and of course the effervescent Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma all together made the perfectly gorgeous wedding.

Being two of the biggest stars in their respective industries obviously put Virat and Anushka under a lot of media controversy. Hence, probably to avoid the big hoo-hah they decided to get away from the country, take a close few people along and take the saat phere in a private affair.

However, a BJP MLA of Madhya Pradesh, Pannalal Shakya doesn’t agree with Virushka’s choices. He described the Indian skipper as anti-national for choosing Italy to marry the Bollywood diva.

According to Times Now, the MLA was very upset about Virat having a destination wedding when it was in India that he received his name and fame.

Talking about the wedding, the MLA asked why couldn’t they do it in India. He said,

“In this country, Ram, Krishna, Vikramaditya, and Yudhisthira got married. And you people might have also married in this country or would get married. But no one among us goes abroad like he has gone. He earned his money and fame in India and took all of it abroad.”

According to Hindustan Times, he said that the couple is ‘unpatriotic’ for taking this decision. And later when asked to clarify his comment, he said that he was very upset with the duo.

Twitter obviously didn’t take it sitting lightly and called the MLA out for his statement.

1. He’s from Madhya Pradesh, but the thought counts.

2. India > Everything else!

3. That though.

4. And they have just been given the small role of running a country.

5. Really has this what it has come to?

6. It should be applied when you defecate in India.

7. It really is infuriating.

8. Absolutely agree.

The comment was uncalled for and I think our patriotism shouldn’t be so fragile that we get hurt by where people decide to get married.
