Foodies have been at loggerheads over which Biryani is the tastiest for months (nay, years). Some say Hyderabadi biryani is best while others give the honour to Lucknowi Biryani, Mangalorean Fish Biryani, Awadhi Mutton Biryani, Thaleserry Biryani or Kolkata Biryani.
Now, a ‘Biryani Policy’ signboard outside a Pune restaurant has reopened the debate once again. It has declared war by saying, “All types of biryanis other than Hyderabadi Biryani will be referred to as Pulao. Any rice potato mix will henceforth be called as Batata Wada rice.”
About time, Hyderabad (#Biryani), India.

While a few Twitter users have thanked the outlet for clearing things up, many have shared opposing views saying this is an insult to other types of biryani. People are defending the aloo in Kolkata biryani and saying Lucknowi biryani is the real deal. Take a look.
Hyderabadi biryani = spicy masala rice. Lucknow and calcutta biryani = real deals

Biryani Association doesn't support all the points written on the board.
We are fine with point number 3 & 4.
