Back in 2016, a youngster from a small town in India’s Bihar, Sharad Vivek Sagar made us proud after he was invited to the White House for a special event hosted by then-President Barack Obama for his exceptional work in the field of education.
This is when everyone knew he is meant to do bigger things in life and his dedication will take him places. Well, he sure has lived up to everyone’s expectations.
Taking to Twitter, the Indian graduate student at Harvard University shared a throwback picture from when he was elected the student union president at Harvard University in 2021.
Who would have thought this young boy would fly to a foreign land and one day, take over this prestigious post in one of the most sought-after private Ivy League research universities in Cambridge, Massachusetts?
In the post, he wrote, “Head Boy at High School to President at Harvard. I hadn’t imagined this journey. On this day, I became the first Indian to be elected President of Student Government at Harvard Graduate School of Education.”

Sharad has several feathers on his hat. Even though he first went to school at the age of 12, the genius of sorts founded the national organization ‘Dexterity Global’ when he was just 16.
The social entrepreneur has been invited to the White House for an important event like this and was also featured in Forbes’s prestigious list of ’30 Under 30′. It was because of his skills and talents that he also landed a scholarship worth four crore rupees to pursue his bachelor’s degree at Tufts University in the US.
People online were proud of this young lad who is taking India to new heights.
