Bhuvneshwar Kumar Cuts Cake With A Sword As India Celebrate Huge Win Over Pakistan

Revenge came sweet for team India as the ‘Men in Blue’ thrashed arch-rivals Pakistan in their Asia Cup encounter on Wednesday. After a humiliating defeat in the Champions Trophy final last year, India had a lot to prove to the noisy critics who slammed them for the dismal show. And boy, they did it in style.

Led by skipper Rohit Sharma, the Indians were clinical both with the ball and the bat. Restricting Pakistan to a mere total of 162, the Indian opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma went all guns blazing against their opponent. It took just 29 overs and 2 wickets for Ravi Shastri’s boys to chase the target set by Pakistan.

While all the four batsmen who stepped onto the crease got significant amount of runs in their bag, the star of the bowling department was Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The Uttar Pradesh speedster rattled the Pakistani top order like a pack of cards while giving away just 15 runs in the process.

Needless to say, the emphatic win which put India at the top of their group, called for a massive celebration. The Indians decided to mark the moment by cutting a huge cake with “Congratulations” written on it.

The players gathered around the cake at the team hotel and Man of the Match Bhuvneshwar Kumar was asked to do the honours. But a win over Pakistan isn’t a normal one, is it? Definitely not. Perhaps that’s the reason why Bhuvi was handed a sword to cut the cake instead of a knife!

He did it by holding the sword with both hands inviting the other to come and grab their others.

Now that’s how you put an end to a perfect day. Congratulations, Team India.
