“All is fair in love and war.” This damn phrase has been used to death by all of us to justify doing illogical stuff when in love. But, we need to stop. All is not fair in love and war. A line has to be drawn. Life is not a shitty Bollywood movie where no matter how many times the girl says no, the lovestruck hero never stops his attempts to woo her. Or rather, it should not be. And unfortunately, we have cultivated a culture that promotes just that.
Latest to fall victim to this toxic trend, is a Bhopal based woman who is currently being held hostage in her apartment by a man who claims to love here.
According to Hindustan Times, the police were informed of the incident today morning at 7 am and have since been trying to negotiate with the 30-year-old man identified as Rohit Singh.
As per reports, the man entered the apartment with a gun, taking the woman hostage and has been threatening to kill both himself and the woman.
Zee News reports that the captive woman is the daughter of BSNL’s ex-GM and that she is a model as well as an M-Tech student.
Singh released a video of himself and the woman from inside the apartment, where the woman can be seen to be covered in blood. Introducing himself and the woman, he claims that they love each other and that the woman’s parents had called her back to Bhopal after finding out about their relationship.
Hindustan Times quotes him in the video as such:
“See all the blood. The police have surrounded us and they attacked us with knives and you can see the condition. There is blood all around. Please share his video as much as possible so that the police are brought to justice.”
He reportedly also says that he would have come out, if not for the crowd that has gathered at the apartment complex.
Speaking to Zee News, he says:
“When I reached Bhopal, a police complaint was filed against me. They harassed me, tortured me which is why I took this step.”
As per reports, the woman had met Rohit in Mumbai during some modelling assignments. She had returned to Bhopal a couple of months back and had to face incessant calls from his side. Today’s deranged actions from his side are apparently a result of her not attending his calls anymore.
NDTV reports that Singh, who is a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh had attacked the police too with a pair of scissors as they attempted to barge into the apartment.

They also report that he has asked for a stamp paper and mobile charger and is demanding to marry the woman.
Some sources report that the police who tried to barge into the room had seen the woman and the floor covered in blood and that the woman’s parents have also been locked in one of the rooms of their fifth-floor apartment. Attempts to negotiate with Rohit and rescue the woman are still underway.
