If there are two things that Bengaluru is famous for it is its comfortable weather and chaotic traffic jams. Social media is full of complaints about the traffic jams and the lack of good public transport. Because of this, many people rely on private cabs from companies like Ola and Uber. But for those who do not know, travelling via cabs in Bengaluru costs a fortune and might rob a person of a significant chunk of their salary.
A woman named Vanshita took to X to share how she spent Rs 16,668 on cab rides in less than a month in Bengaluru. She added that it’s more than half the amount she pays as rent in the city. She shared a screenshot of her cab fares too.
Have a look at her post here:
I can’t believe my uber expenses are more than half the amount I pay as rent in Bangalore 😭😭
for me this got to be the most useful feature by cred till date! pic.twitter.com/k44kzbjE6K

Responding to her post, many people urged her to buy a two or four-wheeler vehicle instead. The amount she would be paying as the monthly EMI would be less than what she is paying for cab rides. Have a look:
At this point maybe it’s better if you buy yourself a vehicle. Even monthly EMIs would be far lesser.

Buy a car and drive yourself. I used to spend that much on Uber at one point in time, I realised I should have bought a car sooner. Much more convenient, no jhik jhik with driver, no uncertainty of timing, no wait.

My god, how do you manage to look at this number. I would think twice before even ordering a cab from Ola/Uber.
I get a Rapido bike taxi on a daily basis for both ways commute. I don’t have the heart to look at the credit card statement to check the cost.

That’s the only reason I bought a two-wheeler for myself here. Super convenient and don’t have to think twice about going anywhere.
And most important. Don’t have to deal with ride cancellation and high ride prices in rain

You can pay a monthly installment on an Ather scooter with that 😂

I feel this is an everyday affair for you and also it looks like the same place seeing the costs. Better you shift or use a car. Even the car monthly EMI’s would he lesser..

It is still less than the EMI you’d pay for a decent car which is depreciating every day, plus maintenance, insurance, parking headaches blah blah blah!
