Bengaluru Food Delivery Boy Brutally Beaten By 5 Men For Arriving Late, Found Unconscious On Street

Online food delivery has truly changed the way we live (read: eat). It is now possible to order anything and everything with a few taps on the phone. And the people who are instrumental in making this system work, are delivery personnel. They brave heavy traffic to get us steaming hot food at our doorsteps. Which is why we ought to show them some compassion and respect. But it looks like some people didn’t get the memo.

In Bengaluru, a 28-year-old delivery agent named Tilak Kumar was verbally abused, brutally beaten and left unconscious on the road for arriving 30 minutes late.

According to The Hindu, five men had placed an order of food online. When the victim arrived at their location, they started abusing him for being late and refused to pay. When the victim tried to explain and said that they couldn’t take the food for free, he was assaulted. He was taken to the hospital by the people who found him lying injured on the road. Consequently, he lodged a police complaint saying,

“They started kicking and punching, and even broke my fingers before snatching the food packets and escaped.”

All five culprits have now been arrested. We hope that they will be adequately punished for their violent behaviour so that it deters them from doing something similar in the future.
