Heroic Bengaluru Cop Rushes Stabbed Woman To Hospital, Donates His Blood & Saves Her Life

The police in India are kind of a yin-yang situation. While we find several instances of the police taking bribes or withholding action to severe crimes, many of them step out of their ways to help people.

Recently, a police inspector in Bengaluru saved the life of a woman who was stabbed and left bleeding profusely on the street.

39-year old Tanuja, a widow and a tutor, was attacked with a machete in Girinagar by Shekhar (42) whose two sons went to her for tuition classes.

Inspector C.A. Siddalingaiah was assessing the polling booths nearby when he was alerted by a passerby about a woman being stabbed.

“I immediately went to the spot and saw people gathered around her. She was lying in a pool of blood with her intestines out of the body,” he said.

The brave inspector put her intestines back into the body, tied a cloth around her waist and rushed her to a nearby private hospital where her wounds were attended to with basic care.

Next, she had to be transferred to a speciality hospital because of the severity of her wounds. An ambulance was summoned and Tanuja was taken to Victoria Hospital where arrangements were already made to handle the emergency by senior officials.

However, sources revealed that another crisis arose when Tanuja required AB+ blood but which was unavailable in the hospital.

But by a fortunate turn of events, inspector Siddalingaiah’s blood group turned out to be AB+ as well!

He readily agreed to donate his blood and save her life. The doctors later reported that Tanuja had been operated and is now out of danger.

The perpetrator has been captured along with the weapon and investigation is underway.
