Ram Subramaniam, the founder of The Handloom Picture Company started a campaign on Twitter a few days ago after he got to know that a few politicians in the country want artists from Pakistan to not perform or work in India. As an artist, this disturbed him and he started a trend #profileforpeace by taking a picture of himself holding a little piece of paper on which he writes he doesn’t hate Pakistan nor is he alone in doing so.
This resulted in an avalanche of profile pictures on Facebook of thousands and lakhs of Indians & Pakistanis all over the world, changing their display image with a picture along similar lines.
In this video uploaded by BeingIndian, Ram Subramaniam sends out a message to our leaders while explaining what encouraged him into this and why everybody who changed their profile pictures is portraying the strength of a democracy that India is.
