The spectators tried shooing away the bees with clothes and tried to run towards vacant places. But all efforts went in vain. Several have been left injured by the attack.

Sources reveal that none of the players were injured because the bees did not enter the field. But five people have been taken to the hospital for serious injuries. India A coach Rahul Dravid was forced to escape to the safety of the dugout.

After the incident, the crowd was shifted from the west side of the stadium to the east side.
